Vladimir of the Red Sun is the Tsar that brought Orthodox Church to Russia in 988. After converting to Christianity himself in Constantinople, Vladimir returns to the Kiev to baptize the entire city in the river. The sculpture depicts the momentous event with the Holy Spirit, symbolized as a dove, shining down on the ceremony of clergy men and country folk as Vladimir prays over them with a bible.
